I hadn’t seen the sun for days and had been popping vitamin D supplements for weeks. But with a super fun Las Vegas trip coming up, I knew something was still missing. I wasn’t quite ready to swagger down the strip with our friends to celebrate my ten-year wedding anniversary to the hubs.
I decided it was time for my first spray tan.
Real tanning was completely out of the question-I hadn’t been wearing hats and 1000 spf sunscreen since turning thirty-five for nothin’. Soon I found myself standing naked in a booth while a ridiculously hot twenty-one year old spray-tanned(and judged!) my 36DDs faster than you say Snooki.
Afterwards, I felt…HOT! There was a spring in my step as I hopped into my Minivan. My makeup looked better. My legs looked thinner. My teeth appeared whiter! Besides the fact that I wish someone had warned me that you can’t wear a bra for an hour after getting sprayed and I had to pick my kids up(let’s just say my son’s preschool teacher might be scarred for life), it was a FABULOUS experience-I haven’t shaken my booty like that since before Britney shaved her head and spoke with a British accent.
But ladies, make sure you do your research. I asked around to find a place that used high-end products and custom blended. Because there was no way I was going to look orange in all my pictures.
But it was SO worth it. I felt great and can’t wait to strip down again for that hot twenty-one year old before we leave for Hawaii in a few weeks.

I need a tan!
Love! I haven’t dared to tackle the spray tan for fear of judgement that without bra, my DD’s are practically making out with my belly button. However, I have developed affair with tanning lotion. Perhaps I’ll brave the booth next time, but no guarantees. I do love how I feel 10 lbs lighter and younger when I’ve got my faux glow on!
